Helen Quigley

I spent more time listening to movie soundtracks than the top 40 when I was a teenager.
I definitely felt a connection to the way an orchestra perfectly illustrates a specific emotional moment. The first sight of the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park, the fantasy date night in Planetarium from La La Land and one of my all-time favourites which probably also contributed to my fondness for late night jazz - Eddie’s Theme from Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
The novelty of hearing a score unencumbered by dialogue and edits was why I bought – and sometimes still do - vinyl, cassettes and CDs of my favourite movie soundtracks. And now I get to listen to them as a presenter with Soundtrack Radio.
How cool is that!
